On behalf of the entire BitCanna team, we hope you’re healthy and taking good care of yourself as well as the people around you. COVID-19 is a disruption affecting nearly everyone everywhere, both in our private and work life. Our team is currently working remotely, and we are doing our best to keep on track.
We want to take a moment to reflect on the past few months and share with you some insights into what we’re currently working on. First of all, we have made a couple of minor changes to our roadmap, since the current roadmap was not reflecting the actual status of our project. The updated roadmap can be found on the homepage of our website.
In Q1 2020, we’ve released our method to purchase BCNA coins with creditcard through our partner Indacoin. You can check it out here: https://www.bitcanna.io/buy-bitcanna-with-credit-card/
We also had the pleasure to welcome Grasscity to the BitCanna Alliance. You can read more about that here: https://www.bitcanna.io/head-shop-veteran-grasscity-joins-alliance/
Next to that, we have made significant progress in the first version of our mobile wallet for Android. A few weeks ago, we shared some previews on our social channels. By clicking the following link, you can watch a video of our mobile wallet live in action: https://vimeo.com/400216017
The first version of our mobile wallet will allow you to:
• Receive coins
• Send transactions by scanning a QR-code (pay for goods by scanning a QR-code)
• Send transactions by manually pasting or typing a BCNA address
We’re now at the final testing stage doing multiple security audits, and we will start to file our application for the Android app store. Shortly after, we will begin working on the iOS version of the mobile wallet.
We have also been working on an updated version of our explorer, improving several aspects:
• Increased accuracy in representing balances
• It’s now possible to track back all transactions of a specific address instead of just 1000 pages
• Loading speed
• Several interface improvements
We will release the updated explorer in the coming weeks.
Next to all of the above, we’ve started developing our e-commerce modules, starting with Prestashop, and we are currently preparing the pilot at our first partner. Keep an eye on our social channels and your mailbox, as we will announce the first partner who will integrate our payment method.
Last but not least, we are continuing to optimize our blockchain. After network upgrade v1.0.2., we noticed a significant drop in orphaned blocks, which is a great sign. We have a couple of updates for our blockchain coming as well, so stay tuned!
